Rooting Is a process by which you get control over your device system. Rooting process of samsung galaxy Y is very easy and straight forward
Follow the step below to root your device
1. Make sure your device is fully charged or above 75%

2. Make sure back up your data is anything goes wrong

3. I've provided the download link for the zip file that is required for rooting, just download it and place in root of sd card ( not in any folder but directly into SD card)

4. Now next step is to switch your phone off and enter into recovery mode

5. After entering into recovery mode select 'Apply update from sd card' and select the file you've downloaded. Select yes. Now after the process completes , Select reboot system now.

6 Voilla You just rooted you phone 

7 you may need to update your Superuser app binaries
